Thanks for applying to BurlesqueStuck! It’s been lovely to see all of these applications fill our inbox, but now is the time to make some tough decisions and get people placed into character roles.

Expect the cast list to be posted later tonight.

Once everyone is placed we’ll add people to the skype chat and let everyone get to know each other.

We will be placing characters this Saturday at 7:00PM EST. This does not mean that you cannot apply past that date. However, it means that any slot you might apply for past that will already be placed to a player. It is advised you do all of your applying before that time, so keep that in mind!

The ‘cast sheet’ will be posted as an announcement, so followers of this blog will be able to know whether or not they were placed. 

As a note, if your application includes a secondary character, please include information upon their job role. When it comes to making decisions for placement, it’s impossible to do without additional information. Applicants who do not include information on their secondary character will not be considered for that role.

For curiosity’s sake, I’m including information on the most applied for character versus the least applied for.

Currently, Sollux is in the lead for the most applicants, as Rose has fallen behind at the least.

Burlesquestuck.

An AU roleplay based between 1900 – 1930.

In the colorful time period of the early 1900’s, the Burlesque circuit began to really take off. Acts were appearing in underground productions all over America, accompanied by illegal Speakeasies. 

Work is hard to find and some hopeful artists had to settle for the underground circuit to begin their career. The clubs are not known for their expensive tastes, the pay is usually lousy and the perks are minimal. But a group of dedicated performers are determined to make a success story of themselves. 

Trolls are seen as being similar to exotic pets. One can adopt an exciting and unusual child, stronger, faster and longer lived than a human. Unfortunately, they did not expect the aggression that came along with the species as it matured.

Some trolls were able to stay with their Lusus, but unfortunately some of the Custodians passed away in the process of settling into life on Earth, the young trolls had little choice but to find new carers in the forms of humans.

Work is hard to find with the reputation of an aggressive species. Soon enough the trolls were forced to find work in less savoury places. Along the way they began working with familiar faces.

This roleplay focuses on their stories. On their lives and struggles in the Burlesque business.
